Default 12" 12v fluorescent light or housing

I've been going mad to try to find a suitable 12" light for the vanity in the bathroom of our FC. Haven't found anything I like at all yet. They are either:

difficult to disassemble to mount, usually requiring a small philips screw driver to pull the two ends off to mount,
have some funky 'touch pad' switch, so turning them on at the switch on the will will still require you to touch each one,
ugly,
low light output.

I would just go with the T5 LED bulbs to replace the tubes already in the existing housings, but one of the tombstones are broken. I'd replace the broken light with a new one, or go ahead and get two to match, but it seems no one makes 12v 12" fluorescent lights anymore. Finding a replacement tombstone is yeat another maddening search.

Does anyone know of any nice-looking 12" 12v LED light housings that can replace the ones in the bathroom (and hopefully cover the holes for the mounting screws), or replacement 12" 12v fluorescent housings? Thanks.

Heh, that IS an option! I may have found something, and it's been ordered. ~13" long, nearly 2" wide and 500 lumen each . They do look like they have clear lenses, so I may try to find some frosted vinyl sheeting to cover the lenses with to hide the individual LED bulbs. We'll see. Heck, the things may even fit in the OEM housings. If so, I'll do that.

Thanks, Orville. I'll wait to see what the ones I've ordered look like before bothering you.

I wish someone just made a whole new light, housing and all, with a good LED and control built in. I still haven't done all of mine. I must have 15 of them.

That would be nice. Our house lights (the ones at the top of the walls running down each side of the bus) were replaced with the light strips before we got the bus. They're a bit dim, for me, but will be okay for now.

If the tombstones for one light wasn't messed up I'd just go with T5 LED tubes, but since I'd be rewiring the lights for those LED tubes, figured I'd try replacing the whole assembly, especially since it's such a PITA to pull the fluorescent fixtures off the wall. This will be my 3rd attempt at getting replacements. If I'm not happy, I'll just get a couple of tombstones from Orville, retrofit the T5 bulbs in them and be done with it.

They do - Leisure RV in California. You just go around the ballast. I've installed hundreds of them.

That's not what I meant. I meant to drop the whole thing out so you're just left with a hole in the ceiling. There are a million cheap LED strips you can screw into the existing housing.

I personally like the effect of the LED "tubes" in the old Thinlite fixtures, nice warm light. When doing the long runs like over the valances I just use three strips of LED and aluminum foil tape as reflectors. I do not like "cool white" in a bus.
