Cheaper than doing the engine swap i bet.
This is the truth..
Does not make financial sense or any sense to do a swap, but that never stopped me before..
There was a PT at the Stewart and Stevenson in Houston that was getting a Series 60 swap supposedly, wonder if it ever got finished, would be curious to see how they accomplished it.
I really like the look of my PT inside and outside, so that is why I thought about a swap. Cannot get the same look in a WB or LXi.. they are nice, just not the same.

I am the poster boy for doing stupid engine swaps.
If you can do it yourself i say go for it.
But beware of the rearend in the PT's,it will not like an S60.
But,i do have a rearend out of a 95 S60 bus,if you need one!
And i agree, the classic bird look is priceless.

That engine is in there tight. When Newell went to the 60 series they raised the bedroom ceiling 6". I think a ratio change would be in order to keep rpm down. Our 86 Newell ran 1800 rpm around 65mph.
Our 86 had no aqua hot but had far more storage inside and out compared with LXI.
That would make someone an awesome coach..

That's a nice looking bus.

I was hoping for more pictures of the engine, but how they got that in there is amazing.

Very nice for a Newell of that age. I noticed there is no window in the door which is very airliner but also notice how little storage there is. The makeshift ladder on the road side looks like a joy

Actually the Newell we had (similar to this) had at least 40% more storage that our LXI. Most bays had 2 rows os drawers. And a mid entry. Very well engineered for nearly 40 yr ago. The reverse flow cooling with rear rad was a downfall when pulling the big trailer.

Sure, it's gorgeous. But how's the headroom?

Kidding, just kidding!

Seriously, that's a beautiful machine. Definitely worth more than asking price in that condition in my opinion.
