Red face New member hoping to be living the dream

Hello--my husband has been obsessed with Wanderlodges for several months and I believe there is a good chance that one could appear at our house without warning (warning to me, that is), so we have rented a standard cabover RV to do a test trip down to Pine Mountain. Hopefully we will accomplish 2 goals: to see as many beautiful BB's as possible, and to see if we are RV material. Any advice on how to thrive in 30' would be highly appreciated, as would advice on what you didn't know you would need to bring until you didn't have it.
We are beyond excited about this trip and look forward to meeting everyone. You shall know us by the 2 giant Bernese Mountain Dogs that go everywhere with us.
Cathy, Ken, Tucker and Tank.

Hi Cathy & Ken,

Welcome to WOG. Going to the WOG rally will give you a good selection of Birds to check out and compare. Probably not many will be for sale but most of us are happy to show them off and answer questions.

Hope to see you there.

Glad you found us Cathy. Don't try to pack everything. Just enough to get along for a week or so. We have been doing this for six years now and still don't get it right. Always too much stuff loaded in the coach. Be sure to look us up and let me show you a 36 ft SP.

Dreams don't always square with reality, in all candor.

The budget would be challenging but the dogs ? I've got a wife and two mini dachshunds and the wife may have to stay home. The dogs pack lighter. One "out fit" seems sufficient for the dogs.

IMHO, other than the wife issue hehe, the dogs are absolutely no problem.

However, you mention that you rented a SOB (some other brand) to see if you are RV material.
Let me say that a Bluebird is far from an RV. Good luck on your trip, but better luck in purchasing a BB Wanderlodge.

As far as the Birds, each has its pros and cons. Although I have not travelled in my 1970SP yet, I am thinking this would be the best of the three that I have owned.
The 35 Forward Control Side Bath is an ideal unit, we spend a lot of time outdoors and with the bathroom across from the entry door it was so convenient.
The 40 footer had more room, the engine in the rear which made it quieter but to get to the bathroom, you had to walk right through the coach.

Each of us will have a different opinion, but one thing for sure that they will agree on, if it is not a Bluebird - it is just another SOB LOL
