I may be wrong, but I think he moved to a Prevo and things are different, Ernie or Randy may remember.
Questions need to be asked , we all learn and don’t become complacent

He had an 86pt40,traded it for a 380,hated the slides, traded it for a non slide prevost.
Was sitting in the bus with it running in his driveway and got out to do something, saw a leak under the coach and slid under for just a second.
The bus aired down and came down on him slowly,he was a big man and could not get out,his wife was watching and could not help him.
A slow painful death.
He preached about not getting under without stands and cribbing.
And then did it.
stuff we all do.

I am very sorry to hear about losing him and appreciate that you guys can share the info to help us noobs learn. It keeps me from even thinking about cutting corners to try to save time. Thank you. I had a cheap race jack fail during a quick wheel swap one time. That brake rotor hitting the asphalt like Thor's hammer is still fresh in my mind every time I jack something up.

Pic on FB yesterday of mechanic working under the front of a Bird supported only by two 20 ton hydraulic jacks. Nice jacks well placed, but no way I’m under there without jack stands and/or cribbing as backup. Apparently there was some 4x4 cribbing available - he was using a piece as a head “pillow”.

I had a 69 Camaro fall on me went I was young. I was skinny then and I got lucky. God taught me never again. I'm rolling my wheels up on something, blocking the tires, putting jack stands and blocks under it before I think about getting under a car. If I had a pit I would never get under a bus. If there was a place to rent a pit I would rent a pit to work on the bus.

It is very sad to hear stories about mistakes like these.
