John. It took a gallon. I bought a kit on Ebay that included a gun and attachments for something around $120. I used coach air to apply.

After changing out the air switch for the steps things improved but the step still got hung up in the cold.

Took the old piston off and discovered that it was pooched, you could put your thumb over one of the ports and still move the ram freely.

Took 2 weeks to get it made and delivered up here so I was happy with that.

Also discovered the small pressure regulator behind the dash drawers was toast as well, tried replacing the O-ring...no dice.

Installed new air bags, Koni shocks, and 3036 brake chambers on the drive axle curb side. Got the duals back on and torqued. Started the same on the highway side but ran out of gas. Back at it tomorrow afternoon.

That is hard work, rest tonight, thanks for the safety lesson.
That picture shows how to work safely under the Bus.

Chap, I think I would have ran out of gas just thinking about doing all of that. I'm sure I would still be sitting in my lawn chair staring at the bus, trying to figure out what to do and how to do it, searching for my beer in the cooler.

Barry,
If you're talking about the language used to remove the top mounting bolt I didn't think we could talk like that on the forum. Since the canisters have to come off to replace the rear bags there's no way I was putting old ones back on. It had 3030's on it, but since the parts diagram specs 3036's on 38 and 40 foot coaches that's what I went with.

I can understand the words that must have been spoken, but since I have never done brake chamber replacements before and am considering changing mine due to the age, is there anything we need to be aware of other than insuring the coach is properly supported, all front wheels are well chocked, etc.
