I 100% guarantee if you call your credit card company and tell them you will get your money back.

Ordered from them but don't remember any problems. I do remember that someone (Jay Darst) got us a group discount, but that was of course after I had ordered.

What's the deal with silicone hoses and their longevity? Have heard to replace and never have to worry about them again and then I see guys replacing the silicone hoses from the factory as preventative maintenance. What's the life expectancy? The factory silicone hoses still look good on mine.

Many (most) silicone hoses have permeation, which means coolant passes right through them and evaporates into the air. The problem is that silicone hoses last longer in the heat, so there are some hybrid hoses out there that have a different liner inside and silicone outside. A short connector hose isn't going to cause any issues from this permeation, but I wouldn't run all of my heater hoses in silicone unless they had to be bright blue or pink or something.

Gates has a good article about this out there somewhere. I deal with this every day with fuel systems, which is a much larger issue!

I am sure that my hoses were probably originals. They were not in good shape. I hit one just slightly while I was taking things apart, I penetrated it and it started leaking coolant. They definitely needed to be changed. I will probably want to change the hoses a little sooner than 35 years next time.
