One could remove the fire truck part. Install a roll on roll off and drive a bird onto the deck.

Why does that thing have be so d$$m far away, love to shoe horn it in my 31'. On the other hand I probably don't need a bus that would run 110.

Most fire trucks have all the low oil pressure, and high cooling temp shut downs disabled. They usually have max horsepower dialed in already. This could be a huge deal or a bundle of very expensive problems that the original owners didn't want to fix. Similar to a Bird or an old Bus. I mechaniced on fire trucks for 30 years.

You can forget the usual miles/hour guess.

Most pumpers rack up miles while in stationary mode pumping water. The transmission is locked in high gear so the pump impeller will spin the RPM to pump big water. I used to teach pump evolution. A rule of thumb was if the pump was engaged and engine idling, the speedo should say 12-15 mph or you were not in high gear. If the tranny is not in high gear and a firefighter shuts down a nozzle the tranny can think it is climbing a hill and automatically downshift and another hose line off the same pump will get a dribble of water instead of a strong stream when the pump is no longer spinning very fast. That is another peculiarity on ATEC electronic trannys. They may not be programmed to go into overdrive. The ECM can be set up to go into overdrive at an Allison repair terminal. Response in a city doesn't often require high speeds on city streets.

Morning.
Most of the cities and townships that had these 8V engines didn't know how to maintain them. Wrong oil, excessive idling, many different drivers, etc. We had 3 in our town. Never maintained correctly and all were pre-maturely replaced. This one may be a good one, however. I don't think that truck would be fast enough for Shane!
