I used a modified Remco drive shaft coupler. Car had an automatic with a rear pump, theoreticly? it should lube the trans when towed, but it didn't, had to find a new gear set for the trans, that's when I employed the d/shaft coupler. The manual trans will be fine towing, the drive shaft will spin the main drive and that will twirl the counter gear, oil will be sprayed about. Had to fab the base plate, not hard to do if you can work with the 1/2 plate required to make the brackets, front bumper hid the plate, was clean install, went with the car when sold, don't have a hook up with the new owner, sorry about that, sure he would be happy to sell it cheap.

Default Looking for a used drive-shaft coupling to flat tow a 69 Buick.

Hi Folks,
Like to install a Remco coupling on my driveshaft or some other mfg coupling. See the current new price is about $800.
Tried EBAY and Amazon for a used one - no luck.
If anyone knows of a used coupling complete, would like to buy it.
Thanks,
Bruce

Some advice from one has used the Remco draftshaft disconnect on 6 or 7 toads.

Use a PTO cable from a tractor supply instead of the whimy lawn mower cable that comes with the kit. The heavy cable always works to engage and disengage. The light weight one requires getting under the vehicle to "help" it engage, if there is any rust on the unit.
