Default Bendix Throttle Cable and Throttle Cylinder(cc-5)

I need to replace the throttle cable and repair leaking CC-5 cylinder for 1986 pt38. Has anyone done this lately?

After reading old posts it looks like ...http://www.midwestcontrol.com/240.php is the place to order from.

I am assuming for the cc-5 cylinder that there is no longer a kit available to rebuild, would it just be o-rings needed to rebuild?

Thanks

Gregg- what is wrong with your cable? Kinked, binding up, etc...? Rebuilding the CC5 is pretty straightforward once it is off the coach. Can you post some pics of the damaged parts?

We have a shop in central Florida that will make up new throttle cables for us. I had him make one for me a few years ago. Did a GREAT job. Because the brass end and nut that attaches to the throttle air cylinder is an "un-obtainium" part, you have to send him the old cable. He reused the brass end and makes a new cable to match yours. In fact next week Rich Alexander is sending one down to be made for his coach.

In the second pic you can see the cable is down to its last thread.

Gregg,
Not sure of the turn around time. I had mine built about 4 or 5 years ago, so I don't remember the price.

Here is the information for anyone wanting to have a new throttle cable made.

Green Sky Adventures (I believe his name is Jim)
Melrose Landing, FL
352-475-5625

If anyone has an older coach and you're not using it over the winter, you may want to pull your cable off and have a new one made. Nothing would be worse than having a throttle cable break while on the road and you CAN NOT go out and buy a replacement.

Remember, you will need to send him your old cable so he can build one to match exactly what you have.
