Default Tommy Rountree update

I received this sad news from Tommy Rountree this evening and he asked that I pass the information on to the WOG members. There is no good way to say this so I've copied his message below so you can hear this in his own words.
Tommy has been a member of WOG for ten years add a very active member on the board. More than that he's been a good friend to many of us and a true gentleman to us all. We wish you the best Tommy.

Phil: your kind words are humbling to me and you are amongst the many I have come to know and love in the Wanderlodge Group. I always looked forward to our time together. You may remember last year I was struggling with a diagnosis of a minor stroke. Facts were it was soon determined that I had never suffered a stroke. Numerous tests and two hospitalizations the diagnosis was myasthenia Travis. A few months later and more hospitalization as well as the hated neurological tests it was finally determined and medically determined that I have ALS or commonaly referred to as Lou Gerhig’s Disease. This affiliation has no cure and I am facing total disability and the likelihood of a fatal conclusion within a fairly short period of time (2-5 years). While I am not trying to be dramatic, I am not fearful because I have tried to live a good life and I am looking forward to a good death. I have tons of wonderful friends and many more whom have already crossed over Jordan. Please don’t despair of my situation and I would welcome for you to pass this message along to all my WOG friends. God’s Peace to you my loyal friend and always remember that you and many others, I love as members of my “extended” Family✌️

I too spoke with Tommy in the last week. His spirits were good and other than some slower than normal speech......remember he is from Alabama and a retired prosector.....you wouldn't know he had issues. He said that Martha and him have had a good life and the friends that they have made over the years from this group are some of their fondest memories.
That works both ways Tommy and Martha!
The BBQ with his "special" recipe for seasoning the wood is fantastic
There will also be a whole pack of WOG dogs that will be heartbroken that your not going to be at the next rally! Cody always knows where his snack buddy is parked.
If you need anything Tommy and Martha..we are here for you guys!

So sad to hear this news. We can not say we have ever meet Tommy and Martha, but have known them from the WOG forum... and responses to a few of our bird problems.

Tommy and Martha, our hearts and prayers go out you both of you.

If only we had a way to "Reset" life's fuel gauge as we do our coaches. I will miss you and Martha, Tommy.

I had a good visit with Tommy yesterday. He sounded good to me, maybe talked a little slower, but still very sharp and good sense of humor. We talked about all the great folks we have met in this group and which he calls family. He is very greatful to all who have reached out to him at this dificult time.
If you know Tommy, give him a call, you will not regret it.
