Thumbs up Canadian Military Campgrounds

Canadian Forces Military Campgrounds

Did you know that U.S. Military (active and retired) have access to the 6 campgrounds and cabins operated by the Canadian Armed Forces Morale and Welfare Services?
  1. Tee Pee Park Campground in Comox, BC
  2. Lake Pleasant Camper's Club, Springfield, NS
  3. Falls Lake Cottages and Campground, Halifax, NS
  4. Cottage Club, North Bay, ON
  5. Black Bear Campground, Petawawa, ON
  6. Northern Lodge, Trenton, ON
This 2007 Travel Guide is for the Canadian Forces community. It lists amenities, services and attractions at all 31 Canadian Forces bases across Canada. I'm not aware of a new edition of this travel guide since this first edition was released in 2007.
US Military are welcome at all of these Canadian Armed Forces Campgrounds and Cabins. However, some of these locations are also open to the public. In retrospect, according to US Department of Defense regulations, Canadian military ARE NOT authorized access to U.S. MWR facilities unless on official NATO travel orders.
>>This article includes copies of the authorization regulations.

Yes, USA military are welcome at our Canadian campgrounds. We used to be able to use the family camps in the USA. Sometime after 9/11 the rules were changed and we are no longer welcome. I could still access your bases to shop at the Exchange, just not use the famcamp any longer.
If we are hosted/ signed in, by a USA military person, active or retired, we are allowed.
It was disappointing when they changed the rules.
