Default WIFE:"NO COMMODE-NO WOG-NO WAY!!"

Microphor L220 (electric) went down and my bride says: "No commode-no WOG-no way!" I knew I had to get to work!!
Initial problem: The flapper on the crapper wouldn't flap the cr@p! Visually confirmed that the metal cam wasn't moving. Now commode is upside down and dismantled, Removed 12vdc motor from the gear head (drives the cam), confirmed the gear head moves easily when the shaft is turned. Applied 12vdc directly to motor, no armature rotation. Disassembled motor: no burnt windings, broken wires, loose/broken brushes (yeah - I thought it would be brushless...), or damaged, loose magnets.
So, I did what any self-respecting, wrench turning Birder would do: I shined up the commutator, realigned the brushes, reassembled with needed lube, confirmed with continuity check, and WALLA, SHEZAM, etc., it WORKS.
The Mullaney people say they've never heard of someone reassemble a working motor after a complete teardown. Huh?? it's just a simple 12vdc motor. . . .
So glad to flush this problem down the tubes, er hopper!
See y'all at WOG!!

It does take a sense of humor -- and a clothespin.

Carmine: I was into that 'end' this spring. Seems some !@#$% (me) forgot to OPEN the dump valves PRIOR to backflushing the tanks. Water pressure blew both diaphragms (black and gray) upstream into drain pipes from the tanks!
Was so mad at myself, coulda sold the bus for a quarter!
Hope you got your end all squared away!
As for odor - well, mine doesn't stink!! Actually, chronic nasal and sinus problems pretty much destroyed my sense of smell. Lucky, huh?

Tore mine out running over a stump hidden in some campground grass. Luckily, we had dumped tanks that morning.

My motor quit years ago. The little spring that keeps the brushes snug disintegrated.
Replaced it with a modified ball point pen spring. Has worked great ever since!
