Default TV

Guys, whats the best way to get Sat. TV in an FC and have it look like a professional install/set up.

Easy! You already have access to the roof for the cables via the cable for the antenna. Your receiver can go in the bin nearest to the door. Power is already there for the microwave and TV. Be sure to make brackets for the dish to compensate for the curvature of the roof. You don't want to warp the base. I am on my 2nd (due to upgrading) KVH (R5) and it looks professionally installed if I say so myself. Not that I am good, but it's really that easy......

If you aren't looking for in-motion you might consider the Winegard Carryout. You just set it out while setting up your site and it automatically finds the sats. You can move it around to get reception that you may not get with a fixed dome due to trees, etc. It does HD and sells new on Ebay for less than $700.
I am considering one of these for the BMC.

The only problem is I don't know if it will fit in the bay of an FC

I carry mine on the roof held down with bungee cords. Most of the time I don't have to take it down to get a good signal.

How do you run the cables for it?

I keep the two cables tie wrapped together and coiled around one of the MaxAir covers. When I'm parked, I toss the cable down by the generator door where I have a 12V receptacle and a cable receptacle. If it doesn't pick up a signal, it's easy to carry it down and find a better spot. A more permanent installation with the cables going through the roof would be better, but for now this works fine. A little more work than other satellite systems, but cheaper and more versatile.

John,

I assume that you are talking about the Winegard Carryout. How has your experience been with it ?
