Thumbs up 2011 'Birds At The Beach at Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach, SC

From March 23 - 29, 2011 we will again be at “OCEAN LAKES FAMILY CAMPGROUND“ in Myrtle Beach, SC., to make your reservations call 1-877-510-1413 their web site is www.oceanlakes.com/ the 50 AMP full hookup sites are $2.00 off of the 2011 rate plus a 11%sales tax, call Ocean Lakes for 2011 rate and be sure to mention 'BIRDS AT THE BEACH when you are making your reservations, this will get most of us together in the HH section, there will be a few of you in the H section just across the road, we have 40 sites designated for 'Birds At The Beach and we are sandwiched in between two other RV rallies, so you won't be able to get your site before or after these dates.

I strongly suggest that you make your reservations as soon as possible, as there is always the possibility that the people attending the two other rallies may try to reserve their sites before or after their rally, it shouldn't happen that way, but you all know how MURPHY works

To view a PDF file of the campsites click on OCEAN LAKES CAMPSITE MAP Those rates are also good for the week before and the week after, if you make those same reservation dates at the time of your rally dates.

Ocean Lakes Family Campground,
Myrtle Beach, SC

This campground is a the same one as the last 'Birds At the Beach rally in Myrtle Beach, some of you may remember it as the original campground that we used. For a Google Maps satellite view and that can also be used for directions to Ocean Lakes, click on this link below;
GOOGLE MAP OF OCEAN LAKES FAMILY CAMPGROUND

Here is a Google Maps view of the areas where our sites are located, you will have to call them to find out where the remaining sites are located. the photo is accurate in its layout as the beach area runs from the Northeast at the top to the Southwest at the bottom and the majority of our sites are located in section HH which is the area Southwest of Sand Dune Drive and the remaining sites are located in section H which is on the Northeast side of Sand Dune Drive.

We do not have all of the sites that you see in section HH, as there were already reserved sites taken, that are used by snowbirds every year in that area.

To view the 2009 -2010 'Birds at the Beach Photos go to PHOTOS Of WANDERLODGE EVENTS.

Remember the 'Birds at the Beach rally this year will be the weekend before the Maxton - East Coast Timing Association - Hot Rod Magazine sponsored Land Speed Races, where we will also hold our annual spring 2011 Hot Rod Magazine - Maxton - Bluebird Mini-Rally again from March 31 to April 3, 2010 where the track entry fee is only $10.00 for the dry camping and a weekend of races, the temperatures are very moderate that time of the year, so you won't have to run your generator that much, so this way you can get more bang for your fuel buck, it is only 105 miles from Myrtle Beach to Maxton, with a stop to get fuel if you need to at the Flying J on I-95 in Latta, SC.

I talked to the folks at Ocean Lakes today and they informed me that half of our reserved block of campsites are already reserved, so if you are thinking about coming to 'Birds At The Beach in March, you had better make your reservations soon.

KC,

Is there something we need to know? What kind of "itis" are we talking about?

You all know these are complicated machines. There is always some kind of dormant Bird "itis" lurking in the back round, just waiting to pop up and party with unwelcome gremlins. Just like the Mucinex commercials. But we usually win out (providing the proper level of alcohol based medicine is ingested)
