Default Allison upgrade @ WOG2019 rally

I had some interest on the Allison shift point upgrade. If your not familar with the upgrade it basically changes the jake brake operation to downshift into 5th instead of 4th.
We had an authorized Allison tech come to PM and upgrade. I believe they paid around $150???? last time around.
I'm talking with them about doing it again this year.
Just trying to get an idea how many would like this done this time around.

this is really a good change to make. Ever be running down the interstate with the Jake on, go down a slight grade and the Jake comes on, drops the tranny to 4 and your running 70 MPH. Gets your attention and not good for the engine. This fixes this problem.

I would like to talk to them about another issue. My Jake will not engage if you have not reached 30 mph. After that if it turns off you have to you have to reach 30 again. That's a problem if your in really steep areas.

This isn't a sign up list at this time. I just need to let them know how many are interested....to see if it's worth their while to come from Atlanta.
If you haven't had this mod done..now is your chance. This upgrade and the jake select switch mod are ywo of the best upgrades I did for drivability on my 95

This upgrade is for Computer Controlled Transmissions. Not much they can do for your Allison and Jake Retarder.

Oh well, thanks. Not a fan of computer controlled mechanical things, if I can help it.

Bring this up one more time.....
I'm not sure I can get them to come to PM with only a couple of interested folks.
If there's any more interest in this let me know

The reason it wont work under 30 (mine too) is that the torque converter has to be in lockup or the engine will just stall. This is not a Jake issue. Cummins/Allison programing won't lockup the Converter under 30.

But it will stay locked to 5 MPH once locked? Mine will but if you stop you again have to reach 30MPH to reapply. Cant be changed? How about you Detroit guys? Does yours work the same way??
