It all depends on your lifestype, if you dry camp in the boonies you may need a propane/electric unit. If you stick to the RV parks & campgrounds with unlimited electricity you can get a small household unit from Home Depot for about $350. Several folks have gone that route.

Claude, you may want to search for the threads as there has been many a discussion on this one. Long story short, I've switched to a house style unit for many years now, I dry camp most the time, and love it. You do have to be careful the choice though as there are lots of design considerations, house battery banks, and inverters to consider first.

We have similar busses so if this is a route you're interested in email me and I'll send you some design thoughts. mike.putz@cox.net

BTW.. you have an 79FC35, they didn't make a 36 in '79. Is yours a rear bath or side bath?

I know, if and when my Dometic bites the dust, I'll buy another house type. The capacity is better then Dometic or that piece of fire hazard Norcold.

Looking to change out my Dometic RM2820 for house type refrigerator. Any suggestions on what might be a good replacement would be great. Thanks

I installed a Haier 10cu/ft residential fridge in my FC35 several years ago. Fridgidaire also had a similar sized model. We love ours, more interior room and we have it connected to the inverter with its own auto-transfer switch.

Just installed the GE 19 cu ft one quite a few people on here did before me . I found a great write up and followed those instructions. Very helpful. I really have no opinion because I just finished yesterday actually. First road trip Saturday.

Lots of complaints about Samsung, FYI.

Just wondering if that refrigerator comes out the door ok. Looks close the door looks to be about 25 inches. Then will the Magic Chef go back in ok. Found the Magic Chef @ Home Depot everything else is on back order.
Thanks
