Default Wisconsin to PSJ Florida

I am in the early planning stages for our winter vacation. Middle of February
we will be making our way to Port St Joe Florida. I am looking for a alternate route to get there.

We usually take I65 south from Nashville to Montgomery Alabama. Then
Hwy 231 south east to I10 east towards PSJ.
I was thinking about taking HWY 27 south out of Chattanooga Tenn. Taking 27 south
thru Georgia towards Bainbridge then head to PSJ.
How is HWY 27 ? Can you make decent time?

We generally spend two nights on
the road so we would need to find a place to stay. Any good boon docking or places to stay on that route?
If you have other routes or suggestions let me know.

Thanks

27 is awesome,4 lanes and no traffic, once you get south of Columbus.
Stop in and see the warehouse!

I think i might be able to talk Sally into that. The time frame is just
before Flywheelers. Will you be around?

I prefer I-57 to I-24 to Nashville, much less drama and traffic. RV park in Marion IL is open all year, 50a, level. With a toll way I-pass the 294 to 57 south is pretty painless most of the time.

US 27 out of Chattanooga to Bainbridge is a good scenic roadway, you will have a few small towns with traffic lights but the trip is worth it. If coming through Louisville, KY give me a shout we have hookups available.
