The road flaggers in Alaska claim they make $75 per hour.
Rain,shine,snow,sleet,80 hours per week in the summer.


My x employee make $15 per hour n Fl.
He loves it,65 YO and finally hes in charge of something!
He works through a temp force place,he works when he wants to.

they pay gate gaurds here in south texas 150 a day to work the gate
free parking
free elec--they furnish a gen set
free water
free dumping....


you got to be at gate 24/7 and log all in and out for 24/7


not for everybody but a job!!!!!!!!!! lots of snowbird man and wife teams doing this


tough to **** and just wait for a truck to me..but.........Im differant

I looked into the gate guard jobs several years ago. It's actually a pretty good gig if you have a partner you can stand being with 24/7. A Bird would be a good coach to use as well. There are a lot of blogs about these jobs that will detail what you really need to be comfortable and safe. You can make a pile of money on a contract and then not take another one until you are ready. I would have loved it but the DW didn't want to leave the grand kids for that amount of time.

I looked into the whole gate guarding thing briefly and it just didn't seem to be our cup of tea.
Reminds me too much of what I already do, no thanks. I like to be active and have freedom to explore, not be chained to my rig day and night for weeks on end. Would rather go work the sugar beet festival and make a pile of travel cash.
