That is a AC filter. Originally original equip on Detroits. Throw it away and get a Racor. They are a pain to deal with. Always make a mess when changing.

You know, I'll get flack for this probably but I'd remove it.

My 78 has one filter in the engine compartment, it's easy to get to, easy to change, screw-on like an oil filter. No other filters or pumps.. stock.

That filter you have is nasty, under the bus, old, obsolete, and just another point of possible leaks and sucking air. I'd plumb around it and just have the engine filter OR of you don't have one add a more modern filter near your propane tank. I keep it K.I.S.S. and that system...ain't!

man that a old school north west heater for fuel ..seen that in the 80's


just kick it all to the curb for free..
