Default Prevost in Dallas/Fort Worth

I just spent the past week at Prevost in Fort Worth, TX having work done at their service center. I have been very impressed with the quality of the service here and the professionalism of the staff and the cleanliness of the facility.

Their labor prices are fair ($106/hr) and my wife was pleased with how polite and friendly everyone at the facility was. They have 14 spots with electric and water hookups and a dump station on site, so staying here for as long as the work takes is no problem.

(Which is great, since the cost of our stay came out to about $550/day making it by far the most expensive RV park we have ever stopped at.)

If they aren't booked solid (which they weren't while we were there) they will even allow you to stay at their hookups for a day or two while passing through if you call in advance (between 8-5 Mon.-Fri.) - although they may charge a minimal amount to stay if you aren't having work done there.

They haven't worked on a large number of Wanderlodges but they know all of the mechanical systems well enough that I didn't have to pay for them to learn. They didn't pressure me to have more work done than was needed - they simply pointed out problems or possible maintenance issues, made their recommendation and allowed me to decide whether or not to have the work done.

Overall, I would certainly recommend them as a great shop to stop at for either an emergency situation or simply a thorough evaluation of your overall mechanical situation.

Too bad that Prevost in Dallas/Fort Worth refuses to work on an Wanderlodge that has an 8V92 engine. That's what the service manager told me. :-(

Yes, I know that. That is why I called them last time we were up in the area. When I asked how they handled Prevosts that had 8V92 engines, the service manager told me that he sends mechanical problems to Stewart and Stevenson. He was very polite but firm.

Jack and Liz,

I'll call Rose Baker the mgr @ Prevost in Nashville tomorrow and ask about the 8v92 deal. Doesn't sound right to me, there are a lot of Prevost with 8v's in them. Perhaps they don't have a qualified tech employed in Dallas, but in Music city they have several guys that were recruited from Covington diesel, a large Detroit shop in N'ville. They have no problem working on Birds in Nashville, they do on occasion need some guidance but overall they are top shelf.
I just read your last post, J & L, N'ville will offer to do it or send you to Covington your choice

Howdy, Kurt.
Thank you. TN is a far piece from TX. We're hoping that a fix can be done in our area. We seem to have an intermittent electrical problem. Yup, one of those. Jack hated to have those when he was working on diagnostic imaging equipment!! <g>

We have a lot of confidence in the shop that is working on our coach's problems. That is why we have been a customer there for at least 5 years.

Thanks again,
Jack and Liz
p.s. Thought about you when watching someone trying to sell a 3 trigger shotgun on Pawn Stars!!
