Default Pt40 cruise air

Had to pull the rear unit out behind the bed of our 1986 pt40. The expansion valve was not working. What a fun job. A lot of work off a 70.00 part. But ac is nice especially when its 90 degrees at night

What did you use for a replacement valve Rodney? I tried to find something a year or so ago and never did. I wound up replacing the entire handler with one from another coach.

Shane had just purchase the coil with TXV. You can get them at AAP Inc. 16388 Industrial DR. Bowling Green, VA 22427. (804)633-9454.

Actually, it was a NEW coil that does not have a Tx Valve.. the new design has a fixed length capillary expansion tube. A little harder to charge "just right".. but it's working great! Much lower return head pressure than the older Tx Valve design. I think the cost was a little under $500.

I had a bad txv in my rear unit a few years back and I replaced it with a fixed office seems like I found it at carrier and changed the piston a couple times. It cools great with better pressures than the old txv.
