Default Burner controller

On my 4 1/2 month old aqua hot my burner controller failed. It would go on, fire, cycle through to the cool down and never shut down. Called aqua hot, they were very pleasant, told me I needed a new burner controller and overnighted me one. When I received it he had said that it looked quite different so I thought I would post a picture of it.

No, it was the newer style black plastic box. Webasto Spheros is the black box. The new one I just got is an aluminum box with caps on both ends held on by 4 screws. I really want to open it but since it’s under warranty for 2 years I am hesitant.

Default Webasto replaced by Beckett controls

Thomas, sorry to hear about the Webasto controller giving you trouble. Mike M and others have indicated low voltage to the controller could cause failure while others think the failures are temperature related...who knows?

Following the lead of Andy H, I am installing the Beckett 12VDC controller and igniter when the Brown Truck arrives on Monday. Shipment was delayed slightly because of the snow storm in the east. The wiring harness is done just waiting for the Beckett parts to arrive and then I'm terminate the ends going to the igniter and controller.

Dont think that WPE 300-900 control will work with the AHE 100-025. Isn't it used on newer style Aquahot systems???

Rick the sheet that came with it says it supersedes WPX – 287–962
The new unit had the exact same black box that my bluebird had on it after replacing the silver box, the numbers matched exactly. My burner looks identical to the one I had in the 1997 bluebird.
