Question CB Radio?

Ok, so the hubby has me on a quest to find a CB for the bus since he believes the one it currently had doesn't work.

My question is: Do you guys really use your CB? Is this a needed function anymore? I understand many new truckers don't even use theirs anymore.
Would you go out of your way to replace yours, if it stopped working?

Yes, I would, mainly if I'm traveling with friends or for the PA feature. Other than that, I don't use it anymore.

I use mine at traffic jams to monitor the traffic pattern by truckers.

If you ever caravan you will need it.
If your parking at nite in a parking lot with friends, its handy to have,to point out the weird people and just in case you have problems, you can ask for help or reply to a call.

I get mine from Iowa 80 truck stops CB shop,i get it tuned up.
150 bucks will get it done.
But,its 150 bucks, texting may be just as good...

I do like the PA,it comes in handy!!

Oh I can totally see the need for a PA, especially around here.

Thanks guys for the responses. Guess I will be looking for another CB.

We use this one in the Jeep . I've had many radios over the years , so far this has been my favorite CB. We will get one of these for our next coach

Just had my CB fixed on our last trip out. Great CB guy that has a place in near Datyona,Fl and in Bartow, Fl. I did not know that much about CB's and apparently mine was keyed without the antenna, which blows out the final. He replaced the final and I got a nice new short antenna for around $100. This guy was great, no nonsense, did not try to sell me anything I did not need and gave me an education on CB's. He showed me how to check the CB and antenna SWR's.

Here is the guy I used:
