Default Zip Dee awning prices

If anyone is curious:
  • The replacement of all awning material with a Sunbrella texture color (silver in my case),
  • Straightening of the slightly bent patio roller,
  • Replacement of rusty screws,
  • Replacement of the flex keys (the strip of material that connects the case to the coach),
  • General tune up and maintenance, and
  • Replacement of material for four Zip Dee chairs,
will total about $2,500, and will take them about 4 hours.

Sorry Randy, I won the argument with Marilyn to reduce some of the purple on freeNeasy (means I will lose the next one!).

Rick,
Will they replace the Blue Bird logo on the awning material?

I just ordered the conversion kit that lets you attach the support arms to the roller instead of lifting the arms up to the top of the coach.

I never liked doing that scratched the paint a few times and in the wind very difficult to close. $170 mol.

I asked about chairs with the BB logo it's an additional 20.00 for a total of 119.99 per chair,

Sorry I didn't ask about Awning logos

Default Bluebird Logo on Zip Dee Awnings

Yes, you can still get the Bird on the awning. It is an additional $150.00 or was on my just replaced awning.

Kurt,
Didn't know that they had a convesion for that issue. Thanks for the info. I hate the current set up and like you have scratched the coach once trying to get them into place. I will follow up on this.

We were supposed to go to ZipDee on our way to St. Louis for Thanksgiving, but have decided to do it in the spring when the weather in Chicago is better.

They are going to put on the adapter kit and "tune up" all the awnings.

I have hated the large awning since we bought Ziggy and scratched the pain early on. Having had "lesser" awnings on SOBs, I never could understand how they could put out something so poorly designed.

Paul,

I have had several ZipDee awnings and I like them but this design is really ****. So I asked the ZipDee guy why they designed it in this fashion.

His answer was because of the poor quality construction of SOB's
They could not handle the stress.

Birds are built like tanks and it's no problem to correct the poor engineering. Well $170 bucks ain't no biggie but they could have done it right the first time.

Default AWNINGS - Replacement for 1983 FC35' - passenger side 27'

I phoned ZipDee @ Elk Grove Village, IL, today, relative to replacing my big awning (27' 4" bottom mount measurement).

They never made one over about 23', and only in steel. Mine's aluminum.

Where can I find out who made my old '83 awning, who can replace it, and at what cost? (Mine got ripped off by the winds near Quartzsite on 1/21/10.)

At least I need to be able to provide State Farm with the approximate cost of replacing it, if I am to have any valid claim. (I have a $1,000 deductible.)

Thanks!

Rick- are you saying that they would replace all awnings (5 window and large, main awning) for that price?? Seems pretty reasonable to me and 4 hours is pretty fast. When are you getting yours done?
