Default Campgrounds going to RATS

If you are coming south on I-95 on the way to RATS there are 2 campgounds on the way in SC we have stayed in several times

Dillon SC just into the state from the north. Bass Lake Campground right off the Interstate Exit 193

http://www.basslakecampground.net/ Very nice owners and if you are Passport America it's about $16 for 50AMP

About 5 miles off the Interstate about 130 miles south of Bass Lake is Shumans Rv at Canadys SC (as full timers 130 miles for us is a long day)

A very nice old couple (probably in their 90's, we usually call before going there to make sure they are still around). Not fancy but often they give you things from their garden and it's $15 for anyone. WioFi and 50 AMP. Here is info on them

http://www.discoversouthcarolina.com/products/450.aspx

Both Campground have pull throughs so you don't even have to unhook

We will be taking I-24 out of Illinois. Looks like Duck Creek RV Park in Paducah is about halway to RATS. Anyone know much about them? Thanks!

I haven't been there but I would say there are nicer places in the area, Kentucky Dam State Park is on your route and it is an hour or so east of Paducah. KY Lake & Barkley Lake, the Land Between the Lakes & Grand River Area. The Canal Campground Barkely Lock & Dam is nice, it's a Corps of Engineers facilty, and about 16 bucks a night.

We are coming from the west on 78 and are having trouble finding something around Birmingham. Seems like Jasper is the closest. Any other ideas? Wanted to make it a short run to Pine Mt. on the Wednesday.

Might check out Coleman Lake near Heflin if you like quiet no frills and $12 or so a night. But it is "out in the woods"

Good luck We couldn't find anything between MEM and BHM. Ended up staying at a Cracker barrell just to the east of BHM
