Been a while since I asked a dumb question so here goes 2 of them. Whilst poring through the Blue Book, I discovered that my original owner installed a new Cat 3208T in 1984 (Cat warranty paperwork still there). The original build sheet says 3208NA. I realize that there were numerous HP ratings available then so how can I determine the output of mine and how can I tell if he upgraded the transmission to cover the bigger horsepower (if in fact it is)? Thanks, Glenn.

To identify what version of the CAT 3208T engine you have look for the Engine Serial and Arrangement numbers, then either call or go to a Caterpillar dealer and they should be able to tell you, see. Wanderlodge Owners Group > Mechanic's Corner > Engine > Finding The Cat 3208 Engine Serial And Arrangement Numbers I can't help you on the transmission.
