We are not. Can't afford to travel at $4.00/gallon for diesel.

I hear ya, If I can keep working 7 days a week, I'll be able to buy fuel to get to FMC rally in Wi. When does it end? At 63+, I ask myself that, a lot

Well, we rolled up into Missouri Ozarks from Texas in June. Dang heat followed us. the midwest had 100+ days for several weeks here in July.
Lucky for us the bus came with a neat sun screen for the front windshield. this attaches to the outside with snaps. We can see out but neighbors (not that we really have any) can't see in. Before we left Texas ( and the humidity) I picked up this great little dehumidifier from home depot. about a hundred bucks and worth every penny. empty it every day into the sink or set it up in the shower with a drain hose. amazing how much cooler it feels at 75 degrees when it's not 110% humidity. now as for what direction we should park... hey these are buses not mini winnies. most of the time you don't get to choose. talked to a friend yesterday who's still in Texas. his light bill was $400 last month. That would have been enough diesel to move us south for the winter ![]()

The solution seemed obvious. The house AC is now set at 90 and I've moved into the bus for all but cooking and bathroom. It will be interesting to see if this saves much on this month's bill. Its cloudy and cooler this morning, and we even had a smattering of rain. Maybe this stuff is about to break. A fella can hope.

Howdy, WOGers.
We are running all 3 air conditioners while we are parked at our place in Dhanis, TX. Today the temp is 107 degrees at 5 P.M. The temp in the kitchen is 78 right now. Electric bills range between $200 - $225/ month. C'mon rain!!! Liz

I'm not sure RV Air conditioners are SEER rated. When we restored the house 7 years ago I put in the most efficient systems I could buy. Even with that, when my wife is out of town, I generally move out to the old GMC in the back yard and live cheap.

Stick, after leaving GA 3 years ago, wherever we have had to pay for electric separately, we've found that it is much more expensive in other areas of the country. You have it good.
Also, your house walls and roof are not made out of steel. |

Plus, I'm sure the RV parks mark up the electricity cost.

wow...
I really didn't mean to hijack this thread and turn it into a " what's your light bill" The point was, that in full timing we've found our bills are much cheaper than in a stick n brick, and that the savings is more than enough to pay for diesel to move us comfortably to wherever the climate is nicer IE; NOT TEXAS!! LOL
