Default Help. Do Not Shift

New to us 1994 BMC with 3060 transmission. Touch pad flashes when turning key on and then goes black with no readout or any response from pressing touchpad. Any help appreciated. Where does this all get power from? 217-720-3608. Thanks.

Spoke on the phone. No obvious solutions yet. Transmission touchpad lacks power - goes black immediately after key on.

Transmission computer is attached from the underside of the touch pad. Door on outside skin under drivers window gives access.

David is going to open the black plastic Allison box that says fuses inside and check there next. Connections on buss bars seem good, dash 12 volt gauge reads good voltage. He also fired generator to ensure good voltage. Battery connections look good, solenoid connections under drivers window looks good.

He is safely in a campground, where he bought the coach, but 700 miles from home. He drove the coach before buying it and touch pad worked well then.

David - if no one on WOG has a solution call these guys and ask for advice: http://www.tktsales.com/contact.php

They are in NC and may be near you, they are Allison electronic controls experts.

(Called David, gave him TKT phone number.)

We will be at TKT at 9:00AM. The good thing is that they are located less than 4 hours from our location. Ted is 98% sure it is an ECM problem. He says he can test it and tell for sure if it's good or bad and can program a rebuilt one and have us in our way pronto.

Thanks Dan! Dan is the man!

I'll do that! If he gets us going, he's the man too!

Wish I had any words of wisdom on it , but I haven't had this issue on ours .
Please let us know what fixes it .

Ours has a solenoid in that outside panel that acts up sometimes . When you turn the key to start sometimes nothing happens . Turn the key off then back on and then you hear the solenoid click and it starts fine .

There is some handy info in this . He talks about the module with the relays and fuses about halfway through the page .

In the VIM you'll notice a series of relays and 2 fuses. If you experience a dead keypad and there is battery voltage to the VIM then check these fuses. One is main power & the other is ignition power.

This is from that web page .
