Default Governor springs and fuel plates - 8.3 Cummins

Randy mentioned governor springs and fuel plates in another thread.

I have no intention of modifying anything like this in the near future - and need to add EGT and turbo boost gauges when I do. But I plan to start reading and learning, and found a site that others interested may want to check.

The right side has some manuals links - and they specifically mention RV use with a 8.3 on several points. Some diagrams and pics - most for the cummins 5.9.

Also I know I need to make sure my fuel cutoff solonoid is opening all the way - and that I will do ASAP.

JUST AN EDIT: I did the fuel plate, opened up the star wheel, and added the boost and pyro/egt gauges. Details in the brazel's thread, and a guage thread.
Sold the BMC, left the forums.

8.3 and 5.9 use same pump so all will hop ups work as the same just bigger gains with larger cid

Woodys right,same fuel plate,same springs as the 5.9
If you go to a cummins pickup site you will get lots of tune up info.
Pump timing is a biggie also.

Those motors can make TONS of power with fairly simple changes. I'd bet one of the guys that does it routinely could get yours to use significantly less fuel just by tweaking her some. Ya can't ever have too much power!!
