Default 6 sec. Garage door

A friend sent this to me...

Please look at your garage door.

After our home inspection the inspector noted that our garage door had a dent in it. Rhys and I were in the garage last night talking about it and trying to figure out how it got a dent in it. Finally figured out someone tried to break in. Then I searched youtube and found the below video. Please watch it. I took the pull string off of ours and zip tied the lever up to the slider. Now you have to cut the zip tie in order to release the lever. Please pass on.

And I thought I was safe and secure by killing the opener's power at night. Thanks so much for making us aware of this!

Just installed the cable ties and instructed everyone what to cut in case of power outage.

Great post and thanks!

Our garage is about 25 yards from our back door and it extremely well lit. It is so well lit that it made is easy for thieves to see all our goodies. The only thing they stole was the portable GPS systems mounted on the windshields. Now to alert us of a future break-in or activity in the garage I installed a drive way alert system with the transmitter in the garage and the receiver in the bedroom window. Now we can hear every time someone is in the garage, it can be annoying but we would rather be annoyed then burglarized.
