Ron,Mike nd the rest of the convoy, I am sorry to say that we will not be joining the convoy to RATS. Fortunately for us , Florence(the Boss) was able to get the entire week off from work, sooooo we are leaving sat afternoon and heading to Roswell to visit her best friend that she went to nursing school with . We will be there for Sun,Mon and possibly Tues before heading to RATS. I would rather leave with you guys but they haven't seen each other in years so I feel obligated to take her early . Maybe we can hook up with you guys as you pass by roswell . My cell # is 330-565-7171. Give us a call when you hit Chattanooga and we'll latch on as you fly by

Mike,

That stinks for us, but great for Florence!!! Hope you are getting a few bonus points. You're a good guy.

Mike,I have been in many caravans, they can be a blast!
Since your a new owner/driver i want to give a few tips to you.

Stay back a safe distace from the coachs ahead of you.
If your CB works let mary handle it.
Don't watch your mirrors to see if the guy behind you is keeping up.
Keep your eyes on the road!!

I like to be the last guy in a caravan, but sometimes i get to lead.
The slowest coach should lead, but only if they know where they are going!

John Finn is the best leader that i have ever ran with, his many years of wide load escorts has left him with a map in his brain, and hes very good on the CB.
He keeps everyone informed of road conditions and red lights etc.
I run the back when he leads, and i keep him informed of where the group is,how far back i am etc.

Drive safe,have fun!

I woke early this morning dreaming I was smelling barbecue.

Butch Charpentier was also looking to join the convoy in Lexington.
I hope he is still planning that.

Hill country is a different story!
And we had snow, rain, high winds, lightning,a forest fire that resulted in a wreck and we had hail too.
Did I mention it was cold that day?
