Thought I would wait till I show up in the bird for my first rally, thought I may learn the secret to opening it after I learn the secret WOG hand shake.
My 91 WB upper gauge panel also has a hinge across the bottom but the top of my upper gauge panel is held in place with screws. The screws have to be removed before my panel will swing down. So... don't pull too hard unless you're sure yours is designed to be pulled down. A friend of mine with a 91 WB added latches to hold the top of his panel but I left mine the way it is for the added strength the clamps provide for the front overhead cabinets and TV.

My '93 has internal latches that hold the panel in place and is hinged at the bottom. If you pull slowly you will feel and see separation at the top if it has the hidden latch. They are spring loaded latches and hold tight. If you see screws then do what John said. Mine has no screws anywhere.

When we were in New Orleans recently I needed an air toggle switch. One of our family of Woggers made a bunch of calls to locate the part for me. That in itself was fantastic but he actually had one of his guys pick up the part and bring it to me in the campground along with an alternate part just in case mine was a little different. But wait...there’s more. He wouldn’t accept payment for the switch.
I hadn’t met Craig Clark before, never even talked to him but if I got nothing else from our trip I at least had an opportunity to make friends with another Bluebird owner that would do anything he could to help a total stranger.
Thanks again Craig!

Default Me too.

Me too.
I found a Wanderlodge, but wouldn't consider it since Blue Bird no longer makes Birds. After careful consideration, and myself being mechanical, the help on this site makes Wanderlodge ownership possible.

Well done to the community.

There is no way that I could own my bird without this group. Both with support and friendship! This forum and group of folks are the best insurance policy you can get at any price.
