Default Front End Suspension RIS16EF Ball Joints

On my 2005 450 lxi three the four ball joint boots are gone. The manual says to replace the ball joints. Item 7 & 41 in the exploded view of manual. Search all of Meritor website to find a parts list with no luck. I believe the components were made for Meritor by European company named Streparava. Can anyone give me directions where to find the parts? Thx

Michael there has been quite a bit of talk about those ball joints lately so I have attached a link that I think you need to read ALL of to get at least a feeling for what is going on..........

I doubt your ball joints are bad.
Meritor did not supply replacement boots.
But we are making boots.
Read the other thread please.

I received a phone call this morning from Shelly Beneteau who heads up Meritor’s Customer Service Department. She and I had a very productive conversation about the availability of these ball joints. She said that they are very close to having a new supplier for these parts. She explained that they are in negotiations with the potential new supplier and should know within a day or two the final outcome of those negotiations.

She has assured me that Meritor will stand behind their products and will provide these parts for us. She is asking that we be patient with Meritor while they work on getting a new source on board that will make these parts for us.

She has promised to keep me updated regarding the progress being made. She has asked for a discontinuance of emails and other correspondence during the interim.

Shelly also mentioned one important bit of information that Iveco may be making these same parts. She is following up on that to determine if that is in fact true.

Thankfully, we may be making progress. Now we will just have to wait while Shelly works on this for us. As I receive the information from her, I will in turn provide that information to you. Thanks for your support….

Chuck

I just recieved a Meritor ball joint for a spare in case i need it,however if any one is in need of one now they are welcome to this one to get going. Just call me. I probably need to start a new thread but I also have a Vanner IQ 3600 inverter that is working fine an one that needs to be rebuilt. It was going to take too long to get it rebuilt and the new ones are pure sine so I now have 2 new ones in my coach. If anyone needs them they are for sale'
