Thank you! I am in the midst of installing the rest of the overhead A/V now.

Working on multiple parts of the upgrades at the same time... while I had it all torn apart, I added the wiring for the new solar panels, MPPT, battery monitor and shunt. I removed all of the Bose serial cable that was cut and still in place. That saved about 10 lbs... I’ll be working on surround sound speakers install next.

All the speakers are installed, and the wires are run. I have some holes to cover and the PS pillar to install, but I have another cable to run to the battery bay for the monitor.

Just finished the A/V. Everything came together very well and it sounds great!

Here are the components of the A/V upgrade:

Sony 40" smart TV
Marantz NR1509
Boston Acoustics XS 5.1
Winegard Trav'ler - Dish Network
Dish Wally
Winegard Rayzar Auto Antenna
Sony BDP-S6700 Blu-Ray
X-Box One
Sennheiser RS 175 wireless headphones X 2
Alpine ILX-F309 Head Unit

I have a small Samsung TV and an older Samsung DVD player in the bedroom but I picked up a MOR-RYDE TV40011H pivoting and sliding TV mount. I need to build an interior cabinet wall in the rear TV cabinet since there isn't one on one side after removing the old CRT TV.

I'm looking for some ideas on mounting a TV securely but temporarily on the cabinet behind the co-pilot seat. The idea is for the kids to be able to play XBox and watch DVDs while we are traveling.

Nice when a plan comes together!

Only one question, do you have any concerns about ventilation on the Marantz? Doesn’t look like much of a gap on the top. I realize it’s all about how hard you plan to drive the amp so maybe heat generation will be minimal.

I don’t think it will be an issue. It has a good bit of ventilation on the sides of the case and there is 3/8” to 1/2” of space above. Plus, the top shelf is a short shelf. The ventilation fans in the overhead should help keep the air flowing.

Thumbs up M380 A/V Compartment Upgrade

Nice work! This project is on my list (which is too long, as usual). Thanks for the pics and details. To your list I’d add a WeBoost cell amplifier. Even with just the magnetic stubby antenna glued to the roof, our 4GX makes a huge difference in fringe areas. Sat my Verizon MiFi Box & AT&T Mobley (if V signal bad) right on top of the Hershey bar antenna. For $20/mo I like having the slightly finicky AT&T Mobley as a backup. Just converted our Travler from Directv to DISH. THE Wally can’t do multiple recordings but works well with portable USB drive. Would like to have gone with a Hopper 3 but couldn’t justify DISH’s asking price difference between the two. No doubt you’ve seen the video of what I did several years ago with the bedroom TV - HERE. Like having that former old style tube TV compartment for storage, way more useful than the former paper towel & TP storage cabinet under the window!

The overhead compartment exhaust “fans” on mine are just one. Like every M380 there are two chromed openings, but only one has a fan. It is hooked to an adjustable thermostat located behind the TV. To keep it from running all the time, when off-grid I just open the left glass A/V compartment door (not the right one since it has gotten in the way of my head! ).
