2014 - Nov 26-30 - White Tanks Turkey Day
Thanksgiving with the AZ Hot Birds

Hello AZ Hot Birds, Wanted to send out an update on what’s coming up in the next few months. It’s been a long, hot summer and now it’s time to play again. Fred & Bobbi suggested a little get together for Thanksgiving
at the White Tanks Park. I thought that would be a great idea for a nice weathered get together before the January Quartzsite Rally.

We have family plans ourselves BUT will be there Fri-Sun. So join when you can, take advantage of the full Holiday or just come for the weekend. They now have 30/50 amp service so no more worry about power.

- Located just west of the Valley
- There’s hiking trails galore, even a short waterfall trail.
- You can skip the hiking, just come for some great company
- There are nice hot showers and flush toilets at the campground.
- The Wild Life zoo close by makes a great day trip!

I'm thinking about attending and I have a couple of questions, would there be a problem with me bringing my trailer up to the campground and at that time of the year what is US93 like between I-40 on the north and 303 on the south?

John,
I don't think there would be any problem with getting in and out of the campground with your coach and trailer. I recommend space # 12 if available, it is a good sized pull through, and close to everybody that is signed up so far. The other pull throughs aren't as close but really not that far away either.
In normal conditions Hwy 93 north to I-40 should be no problem at all and I haven't sen any indications that we are in for an early winter this year.

If it fits into your schedule, come on down, we'd be happy to have you.

Website for park reservations is www.maricopacountyparks.org/reservations Hope to see you there.
Dave

John, these are a quality group of guys. (Aren't all bluebirders?) I met them for the first time this spring at the Kaibab Lake gathering, and even though our time was short, we had a blast.

Also you may join them with total comfort, because I won't be there this time to hijack your threads!

Arizona Weather for this Thanksgiving; 81 degrees!

Forecast
High - Low

  • 68° - 43° Today
  • 76° - 48° Tomorrow
  • 81° - 48° Thursday
  • 79° - 47° Friday
  • 77° - 47° Saturday

So far I’m seeing the head count as the rally crew plus a few extra guest from Van and Fred, Wendy, Morey, & Margaret so looks like around 13-14 people.

So here’s the list;

·Firewood – Please donate to the fire wood pile
·ICE CREAM. Cherry cobbler is only made better by vanilla ice cream.
·Macaroni Salad
·Potato Salad
·BEER, Wine, etc…
·Chairs
·Small donation for Fred’s efforts.

For those of you lucky enough to be there for the Thanksgiving dinner, Here’s what Fred is going to do;

Looking forward to seeing everyone,
Michael
