Default What's this? (Fresh Water Pump)

This is under the bed. The gears on the outside are offset but looks like there should be a belt? What's does it do and if it is missing a belt where do I get one. Thanks

Is there suppose to be belt attached to the two exposed gears? Why the cogs?

Default What's this?

The fresh water pump is supposed to have a belt on it that fits those cogs. Mine was allowed to freeze and was broken when I bought my bus. I changed it to a direct drive model.

I just got this bus and the weathers been cold so I haven't put any water in it yet. Both wheels spin freely. Where do i get a belt and/or what direct drive model is a replacement if I have to replace it. Thanks

you will be better off changing the complete pump, those Parr pumps have a diaphragm in the base that will leak, and parts are hard to get and $$$$$.

Default Water pump

I wonder if the pump is already bad and that is why it doesn't have a belt on it? I have a basic Flojet pump. You can go to Camping World online and look at the different models. Then I would go to eBay and check the price against what they have. I bet if you look at the bottom of the pump near the base maybe it froze and has a crack. I found out mine was bad when I put water in it. I don't remember the brand of the original pump. FYI my mom and dad had a boat once that had the same exact pump......and the water 'pulsed' real bad when it was running......so I wasn't said to change it.

Kip,

I just took mine out today and replaced it with a Shurflo Extreme 4.0. (total conversion cost about $165.00) There was nothing wrong with the pump as far as I know. I also have an extra pump and now an acumulatore tank. That is the blue tank I think I saw in your picture.

I was going to put them on the forum for sale and then saw your post.

If you want one or both and the acumulatore tank let me know. I saw a new one in my loal RV dealer parts catalog for $155.00. Just make me an offer. I am reasonable.

The variable speed pumps work well as a replacement. I put a aquatec or aquajet ES on my BMC and previous FC35.

http://www.rvwaterfilterstore.com/Pumps.htm is one of many sources.
