Default 1969 Blue Bird INN For sale!

My wife & I are thinking about selling the BB INN. How much $ ???

I truly wish we could keep it but I went out and ran the engine and moved it over to a new spot. After looking around I can see the poor bird is just falling apart just sitting there, this just breaks my heart after all we have been through with in, and its a good dry camping, heavy duty unit, and only 13 made!
We just rebuilt the breaks, chassis (complete), steering box, & tran.
I put some more pictures on my photo album to look at, (78BB for album).
Please E-mail donelec@sti.net
Thank You: Mark & Laura Donahue

If somebody wants a unique Bird that will be the talk of the campground or if they want a Bird to dry camp a lot with here is your shot.

Golly that's nice.

Side note: I am told these are rarer than hen's teeth, which I absolutely believe. I believe production numbers were somewhere around THIRTEEN units.

What boggles me is that of the 13 made, BB used at least two different chassis. A Ford based one, like the subject of this thread. And then also a Chebby based one, like the one that has been on VintageBirds for awhile.

(Shown here)

Typically, I am a Chevy guy, but 78bbird's Ford has really got me thinking that it's time to annoy Mrs. Esmi once again with another driveway sculpture ... ... .

I don't know of anyone on this board who is happy about being in the Two Bird Club, but I feel that I might be the exception...

Esmi, have you seen this driveway scuplture? Also there's no need to worry about air leaking out of your leaf springs! NFI : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1949-...item4cf6cfc544

Default BBB INN 1969

Yes a lot work!
They could be ordered as Chevy / 350V 8, Ford / 330 Ind., Dodge 318 V 8, GMC 305 V 8, INT. 304 V 8. I now have a 390 Truck engine & Clark 280 5/ OD speed manual. Carries 130 gal. of gas in 3 tanks. I went into every system, plus added a lot of extras. The most it needs right now is new paint. And I hope a good new home. I just put 3,000.00 into the chassis & brakes, 1,000.00 into the trans. donelec@sti.net

More pictures in my album, click on 78bbird go to album and click on album& pic of 78BB. The picture is one cabinet I cut the shelf in to put drinks down to open the door. It came with 2 batteries up under hood one just for starter motor so also a back-up. I added 2 more in rear compartment with switch for bat 1,2,both,& off.added an old charger, it has the old converter, frig, runs on LP gas I never plugged it into 120Volts.I put in new water hearer, furnace, stove with oven all LP. Rear sofa bed, front dinette sleeps 2 kids. dinette seats both will face forward. I replaced all 120 volt wiring, pluming and added a 40 Gal. gray tank under rear, 40 Gal. fresh tank under rear bed. The bath room is a insert has a crack and I took out the tolite. Tires look new but are 16 years old. GVW 20,000 I weight it full at 15,000 Steering still has one problem after I rebuilt the chassis? Last trip I drove it 12 hours without stopping.

Yesterday I rebuilt / cleaned -up the starter, now its back to new. I will try and get someone to put back the 2nd front battery. It does run on one battery, but I also added two more in the rear.
