There are stories on the internet about changing from a DDEC 1 to a DDEC 2. Might be worth the google search.

Default Problem resolved

All,

Thanks for all the tips and advice. After calling around, the best deal was still a bit much but I felt I had no choice.

Before I started looking for a box, I thought I should pull the eprom and copy it (yes, believe it or not I have a reader/burner still!). I pulled the prom and found the numbers on it didn't match anything out there. Must be a special made for DDEC. I reseated it and put the cover back on.

There was so much talk about grounding to the DDEC causing issues that I dropped the leveling jack and blocked the front up and crawled back under the drivers tire to check out the connection to the ATEC. There is a wire coming out of the bundle that goes to a screw on the body sheet metal. I went to check how tight this was and the wire fell out of the ring terminal. Corrosion had done its job.

I cut the wire and crimped a new ring on and ran a new sheet metal screw through it and was very happy to see my fault indicators for the DDEC and ATEC had disappeared!!!!!

Very happy!

That is great news. Glad you are back running.

The best deal for what? A new ECM?

Did you write down the EEPROM part number or take a picture? I have a couple of clients with old aviation stock that might have some older parts lying around.

What a relief when something major turns into something minor
