Default Anybody actually using SVO/WVO on your bird?

I would love to hear from some people with real life experience using grease on a WL especially Cat3208 turbo FC.

In short, I won't be doing it given the risks and potential cost of ruining the injectors and pumps on my engine.

Not worth the mess, time, future repairs, etc.

Lets see A little bit of salt in my steel tank, a little bit of water mixed with it, go down the road and mix it all up then send it to your fuel pump.

I am not going to try it.

The problem is not the wvo, it's the impurities, primarily salt and water. Our 88FC was run on wvo in the past-the injection pump had to be completely rebuilt (luckily before we purchased it). The inside of the tank has severe corrosion and the dip tube was perforated near the bottom, causing a failure on our maiden voyage. If the waste product is properly filtered and distilled to eliminate the contaminants, it makes a fine fuel, but by the time all this is done, the savings just aren't there. Then there's the problem of consistency-no standards for wvo purity, while commercial fuel has to meet strict standards to be sold in interstate commerce. I would recommend against it.

Randy Dupree has experience with WVO; never heard of him running WVO in a Wanderlodge though.

Critt Bliss may have some stories to share regarding WVO.

My economic situation makes WVO an unaffordable option for my bird. YMMV.

I had an old chevy suburban that i bought from a guy with a WVO system on it.
I paid $400 for the truck and drove it home.
It was a rusty thing, straight out of Penciltucky.

I had a great supply of WVO for free, and i guess i drove that thing for 2 years, until the injector pump went bad.
The pump was totally ruined,i took it apart myself.

It was an interesting project,i learned a lot,and we had some great stories from the trips in it.

Would i do it again?
Not to anything that i like.
A $400 truck? yes.
A wanderlodge? NO WAY.
