Traveling to Casper I had a lot of places where I had to carefully place the Mobley to get a connection, which is a typical problem in our metal coaches. I've had a Wilson Trucker antenna on the roof of my last three coaches, with the connection going to various USB modems for Sprint, originally, and Verizon for the last few years. I cancelled my Verizon modem after getting the Mobley, but the antenna is still up there.

There is information out there about connecting an external antenna to the Mobley, so I decided to give it a try. There are 3 antenna connectors inside the Mobley, and I took the word of others as to which was the one to use. With the Wilson cable, which has an FME connector, you always have to get a different pigtail depending on what you are connecting it to. For the Mobley, that is an MS156 plug male to FME male plug, which I got on Amazon.

I took the Mobley apart and located where to drill a hole in the case, as shown below.

Testing: I had -101 signal with the plain Mobley, and without moving it and attaching the cable the signal went to -86, which is a huge increase in signal strength! I did not bother to test speed, as even -101 can give good speeds and speeds are more a factor of tower congestion, but I don't doubt I will now be able to connect in many places I couldn't before.

Excellent! Was going to buy a booster, This looks like a better (and Cheaper) solution. Thanks!
I found the cable no problem. Can you post a linky to the antenna you are using please?

I got the repaired mobley back from ZTE. No explanation of repairs.

Next time, I think I'm going to power it a through laptop instead of plugging into an outlet.

The one that Greg pointed to may be better, I don't know. I have one of the cheap ones, the 301104: https://www.wilsonamplifiers.com/12-...-mount-301104/

According to Amazon, I bought my antenna in August of 2011. Back then I mounted it in the center of the square plate that is at the top of the old-style TV mast, after the TV antenna on Blue Thunder was removed. It needs at least that large of ground plane. It is a through-the-hole type mount, and I had to make a bracket for the M380. For roof mounting on a steel roof the magnetic version would be easier: https://www.wilsonamplifiers.com/12-...a-male-311125/

Don,
Sorry. In your comment you said you used the Wilson Trucker antenna, so I pointed to it. If your cheaper one works, that is great. I already have the Trucker antenna, so I will be using it. Thanks for the post. It should help a lot!!
