Default Fire in the Hole. Total Disaster

We had a big disaster in my neighborhood this week.

Please take the time to consider your insurance coverage, priorities and any personal effects you can't afford to lose.

This metal building was insulated with spray on foam. It also contained mowers and motorcycles BBQ grilles and propane tanks.

Luckily no one was hurt.

The RV was a pretty nice 43' Genesis. It melted down to the ground. Even the aluminum wheels melted off of it.
The firemen say a steel building acts like an oven Just cooked everything

Be careful out there!!

Max

That is correct John. It was a neighbor of mine that lost his shop.

We live in a very small community and we depend on and socialize with our neighbors constantly. We are all so heartbroken and distraught. There is no way to replace everything that was lost. He is a collector of tools and guy stuff who had rounded up bargains for the last 40 years and now it's all gone.
It's just sickening because you know it can never be replaced.

My plans are to make a video recording of both my home and shop and put it in my safe or maybe even in the bank lock box. Papers that were in his safe inside the building are just charcoal now. Nothing in the building withstood the heat. Of course the heat was exacerbated by the RV fuel tank and Propane tank. Plus there was all kind of other fuel to really heat it up. I think a gun safe inside a house should fare much better than inside that metal building.

Think about what you have and if you are adequately insured.
Please be thankful no one was hurt and try to learn from my neighbors misfortune
That is the only reason I started this post.

Max
