Default Generator not sliding back in on a 98 LXI

Slid our gennie out tonight to add windshield washer fluid...and it will not go back in. Nothing happens when depressing the In-Out button. I read some of the postings on here....and it seems that the air has to be pumped up....we did that...still no change. Any suggestions to our problem. We are not the most mechanically gifted. Any suggestions?

the 98LXI does not have an air operated gen slide.
So,pumping up the air will not help.
Will the generator start and run?
The reason for that question is it will tell us if the generator battery is charged.

Default 98 lxi gen slide

The generator does start and run the battery is full charged. I checked the breaker for the generator actuator and it was not tripped.

OK,so the breaker is not tripped, but does it have power going in and out of it?
If it has power passing through, the next thing to check is the switch,i have seen them go bad,if the power gets to the switch, and goes out of the switch it has to be the actuator that powers the gen in and out.
Do you have a test light or meter?

Yes I have a tester I will check the breaker and the switch. I don't have the generator manual would it have the slide schematics in it? Or where could I find them?

the actuator is a device like a powered jack for a trailer or the old big sat. dishes.
Warning!
The actuator is the only thing that holds the gen slide in the coach,if you unhook the actuator the gen can slide out and damage it,or hurt you.
