Birth Dates

Just went into my user CP to update my signature, and saw this
"Please contact the Administrator if your date of birth has changed."
I always thought that ones birthday was kind of a fixed deal.

The wording is kind of funny but I have actually been asked to change the date of birth by "several" members who accidentally or in some cases, intentionally entered the wrong date of birth while registering.

For some folks, the day stays the same but the year is kind of . . uh, . . fluid.

I am considering transitioning my birthday to a better month than April. Since we can change all these other things now... ha

I intentionally entered my Birthday a little wrong. I don’t really want it splattered all over the Internet for would be Identity Thieves. So I can see how someone who originally gave their “” real”” date might want to change it to something else.

BTW — I don’t give my birthdate at the store when they ask for it either. I buy tools at Cash America Pawn shop and they ask even if it’s a 2 dollar item and I’m paying cash.
I’m sure it has to do with marketing and demographics but it’s kind of gotten out of control.

Just call me an old curmudgeon but I really don’t think it’s their business!!!

I do like the WOG acknowledgement of Birthdays for most people but just leave me out !!
