Dash 12V Master Switch

My 12V master switch that is on the dash is failing. Has anyone found a replacement? There are two numbers on it 0039853 and 896_K1568, the center number is not readable on that 2nd one...

Does it need to say COACH MASTER or could you live with a simple switch that fits that hole? Probably plenty in the BB parts bin that are simple on-off switches that fit that spot... can look at the bus graveyard tomorrow.

I would prefer that it was like the original, but ultimately, it just needs to fit and function.

The rocker part pops out so you can change the bulb(s), so you can use another switch if you're careful and then swap the one with the right text back in.

Looked but ones in my collection do not have that pin configuration & none are a MASTER switch. All have Mexico manuf part number labels on sides. Assume you’ve checked your switch #’s online? Carling is a big player in switches like this: https://www.carlingtech.com/rocker-switches

Have had good luck using my label maker with black tape and white letters to match interior 12 V light switches. Back lighting doesn’t work of course but don’t use that anyway. Hi Chris,

If you look closely at picture #3 that you attached to post 6, you should see part of the “Eaton” logo.

I don’t know much about those particular Eaton switches but it appears (to me) that functions such as “on-off-on” verses “mom-on – off – mom-on” are controlled by the choice of the “Frame Style” rather than by the “contact block” itself?

The "switch base" in your picture # 3, appears to have a “1568” contact block.

I don’t have any 1568 contact blocks but I do have several “switch bases” that have “1567” contact blocks. (from the Wanderlodge factory auction).

As far as I can tell, the “1567” and the “1568” contact blocks are the same… except that the 1567’s have a couple of easily removable external conductor bars between the pins. (see attachments). If you can't come up with a new switch that will work for you, I can send you a couple of “switch bases” with the 1567 contact blocks to try.
