I'm looking to replace my Chandeliers with LED lights. I may have found a suitable 120v replacement but I'm starting to think that I should run a 12v line instead. So I have two questions, first has anyone replaced these lights with dome lights? And second, am I missing the down side of using 12v instead of 120v?

Why do you want to replace the lights with LEDs? Is it because of boondocking or dry camping or some other reason?

I took out the chandeliers because I'm tall so they were at eye level. The 12v spots heat up my head so I will be replacing them with LEDs as well which is what put me on this path. I started thinking 12v because we play a lot of cards and I wouldn't need 120v. My next big project is a inverter/charger but I want to complete the half dozen smaller projects I started first. I was hoping for some been there done that type of advice.

My bus came with a chandelier over that table that, well ... I didn't like the look of. I replaced it with a modest fixture from Home Depot, and I believe it looks better. I put in a halogen bulb, the kind that screw into a normal 120v fixture. I have replaced all the spot light bulbs with 12v LED.
I left the kitchen table light, and the one fixture in the bathroom as 120v fixtures. If I am not hooked up to power I just try to avoid using them. I have lots of other lights that operate on 12v. Those fixtures do operate off of the inverter though. I thought that there were enough lights that I didn't have to change these to 12v.

I want to do this conversion as well. We boondock way more than RV park and having those chandaliers working via LED would just be extra fun. Did you do it?

It's been so long ago I don't remember the particulars but I changed out the light (kept it 110) and used LED bulbs. It's handy to have some 110 lighting in the coach I think

You can LED bulbs for just about any socket nowadays.
I just replaced all the 110 bulbs with LED ones. If they have a dimmer make sure you get dimmable bulbs. Color temperature is also important to me. I like Daylight or 5000-6000K Some like the soft white or more yellowish 3000-4000K
