The day old Genny died. I need your advice.

I tried the old genny today to make sure all was still well. Well it wasn't.

My GPS started pitching a ***** about an 11' 6" coming up soon. So I stopped to assess the situation. While assessing a man came over and said you have water running all out the front.

It wasn't water it was diesel fuel. The meathead had used a non fuel hose for fuel. I couldn't get it back on without just breaking the hose again and again. Luckily I had some new wiper fluid hose and used that to get the leaks stopped and get me on down the road. I will get the correct hose in the AM and fix that and check for anything else.

My satisfaction just went way down with WW Williams. You really have to watch them all and reinspect everything.

That could have been a disaster. Let's hope that is my only surprise.

Glad generator fuel problem was caught in time. That could have been lots worse.
George, curious which GPS you have? We have the Rand McNally that is full of errors. And was it a low bridge. Know you are headed for Alaska, where are you now?

Send a bill to Williams for a $15k hazmat cleanup and see what they say. Not to mention the $300 to have the hose replaced and the rest of the work inspected.

We have the Garmin Nuvi 465 it a trucker GPS from Garmin. This was a tunnel with 11'6" on the sides and 14' in the middle. I like the GPS for the most part but I wish I could program it that I was an RV not a trucker. It yells at me when I violate trucker prohibited places. All in all I would be better off if I listened to it all the time. I don't know it hated the hiway I was on the other day cause I was too heavy. It turned me into a neighborhood. I could only assume the neighborhood road was unrated weight wise so it assumed it was safer??? I dunno sometimes.

We are in Tillamook, OR now for a few days. Yesterday was slow going up Hwy 101 from Coos Bay to Tillamook. A thousand 35 MPH curves. I got a lot of # salutes.

Oddly enough - as much as we would love to toss that GPS in the ocean from time to time - it did make us physically stop yesterday in order to re-assess the potential low clearance issue.

Had it not stopped us in our tracks, we may not have see the gusher soon enough .. before a real emergency set upon us.
