Question Model Names/Number

OK
88 PT40 is a 1988 Pusher with a tag
90 WB40 is a 1990 Pusher with a tag and wide body
90 SP36 is a 1990 single axel pusher
any think FC is forward control (engine in the front)
What is 1996 43? Is it 96 WB43 or does it belong to the LX family?

Thanks

Doug

Also keep in mind that the LX and LXi was built on the new LTC 40 (Luxury Touring Coach, 40 seater) Coach Chassis which began production for the 1998 model year.

As noted, the 96 would not be a 43. In 95 and 96 both 40 and 42 were made, the former with an 8V92 and the latter with a Series 60. In 97 they modified the frame to drop the engine down so it would fit in a 40, and they called it a 41, while the 42 became 43. It is my understanding that a 40 and 41 measure almost the same, as does the 42/43, but I've never seen exact measurements. The 97 is the last coach with exposed rivets, so one of the differences that would make an LX or LXi would be the smooth skin.

Don, That is very interesting. I did not know the difference about the rivets between those, will have to take notice. When asked I usually just say it's a " 97-43 " thinking that should cover the bases, and it's amazing how many ask if it's a WB...?
