A couple of folks that should have considered a vintage bird, maybe.

You can get a lot of Wanderlodge for a 150k large plus.

My 71 Bird had no rust anywhere, and we stripped it down to bare metal.
I did find a small section of the plywood floor in the passenger seat area thats rotted.
I suspect the drain line from the roof AC unit was dripping in that area, judging from where the drain line terminated.
FYI.
the roof AC evaporator unit has been replaced in this coach, with a different unit.
We will not get into the installation!

What I don't understand is this. The folks who bought these know how to use the 'net to bad-mouth the manufacturer (well-deserved, IMO), but did they use the 'net to do their due-diligence? Weren't some of these things about Thor QC known before they bought? Mike your statement "A couple of folks that should have considered a vintage bird, maybe." really says it all.

The VAST majority of people do not want vintage birds.

We can question the why of that we are the odd fellows not "them"

right, but the guy has a 2014 coach, for what he paid for that,he could have bought a 2000 model Bird,or even one of the 450's for sale.

Yep, but they probably let him drive away with little or no money down and 20 years to pay. That's a long time to owe more on something than it is worth.

Im guessing a lot of these late model purchases are made with little cash down and stupid financing. They did not really "buy" a motorhome, they bought a loan Without that, many could never drive a motorhome. This kind of financing is not available on a vintage Bird.

They are upside down in the thing before they drive off the lot....

Some of these folks just don't know that there are other options but I believe the vast majority want new and shiny and of course the financing.

I don't believe quality is all that high on the list of what makes a product of any type a good seller.

Folks say they want quality and complain bitterly when they don't get it but the market seems to prove that price and glitz sells.
