Nope...you are not too far at all! Do you know which COE you are going to stay at? McKinley? Victoria? I think Sweetwater Creek is the closest to Canton.

We are trying to figure out our first trip. I believe we will end up heading to Grayton Beach State Park - between Panama City and Destin. That is our favorite place and it seems apropos that we start off going there with it. If we can get a site, it will probably be in May. We'll be planning that later this week or next.

We have a MAJOR home renovation project going on right now and we need to get further along on that before going anywhere too far. As weird as it may sound, this purchase happened at a perfect time. Most folks wouldn't want to take on 2 things like this at once. But, we are planning to do a bit of driveway camping in the Bird when we have periods of too much dust in the house (Deborah is fairly sensitive to dust). We now have a VERY nice respite from the chaos! The only areas we can currently use in the house is our bedroom, bathroom, and closet!

My next immediate need is to sell the Winnebago I have. Good news is that I have someone making a second visit on that tonight. Bad news is that it hasn't sold yet and my driveway is FULL!!

Welcome & Congratulations, Jonathan,

We have enjoyed your posts, & persistence until your time came about, I seem to remember Jonathan from the Old Ernie Forum, that is more patience than most, waiting this long will pay off,
you will not need to belong to the Two Bird Club.
Will see you at Pine Mountain.

That was me. I've been waiting for about 8 years for this. No one can say that this was a spur of the moment purchase - for sure!

Not sure about Pine Mtn. I haven't looked at the dates for Pine Mtn and I'll need to compare them to the GT football schedule. If there is no conflict, then I am going to try to make it down there.

Congratulations Jonathan, we are so happy for you. IMHO you could not pick a better coach than an 01 LX (a little biased here ) If you have any LX/Cummins questions I would be happy to try and help

Jonathan - glad you pulled the trigger. Your departure has left me as one of the old-time lurkers. We're really enjoying the GMC now, but still have dreams of getting a Bird.

Forget about the Trade School and go to WOG. I've been 3 times and I don't even own a Wanderlodge.

I have trying my best to keep this sale quiet!
All I wanted to do was run to WOG and say "guess who bought a bird!!"

But,i had to keep quiet,it was up to Jonathan to announce the purchase!

Over the last few years Jonathan and i have talked about BMC's.
I sent him pics of several, but he was not ready.

When he called about this coach i was shocked! Shocked i say!!
Then he started making offers, and i called Norman.
Nope....

A few days later,another offer...
Nope...

Than,another offer,YES!!

We had a deal, but we need the inspection,i was sure it would be fine!
Cummins did the inspection, all was well!

So,Jonathan,welcome to ownership!
You waited a long time!

It was my pleasure to help with the purchase!

!!
We are at McKinley. I think it is the only one open this time of year!

We always spend the night before a trip in our driveway. It helps me realize what I have forgotten....like phone charger, glasses, even a wallet(me pointing at Jim)...

Jim is a GT grad. I have a PHT (Putting Hubby Thru) from GT....

Enjoy your new coach, wherever you decide, on your first outing!!
