Default Silverleaf for '94 WB 8V92?

So I'd kinda like to have a Silverleaf VMSpc on our '94 WB/8V92 when we drive it home from Texas.

But there are a couple of things I need to know first, and searches did not provide the answer:

1) Is the installation just plugging into a diagnostic port under the dash or do wires have to be run back to the engine compartment?

2) Which one do I need, 6-pin or 9-pin?

Thanks!

Not sure but I think the 94's still have the 12 pin rectangular plug... The round plugs didnt come till the S60's.

The plug should be behind the shifter panel, 2 of them. On my 93 there is a gray one for the trans, and a black one for the engine. Both 12 pin.

The VMS is real nice, but requires a laptop or PC dedicated to the display. If you want a quick and easy engine monitor try this:
http://www.scangauge.com/products/scangauged/
If you give them a call they will send you a cable with the correct connector on it free!

Not as nice a display as using a laptop, but dosnt take as much dash space and gives you pretty much the same info...

Or you can super-impose on your backup camera monitor

Dave, you need to know what kind of plug it has. I think there is a converter plug available. But it only takes 3 wire to make it work, and they can be wired around any style connection plug to do it. And that is all it takes. A usb connects to your computer. I think you get about the same out of a ddec II that you to the ddecIII.

If it measure speed and miles, and fuel flow, the tank minders and trip odometer are worth the cost of the unit.

Yes, I need to know what kind of plug it has. Hence the question. I, perhaps foolishly, ***-u-med that any '94 would have the same plug.

Does anyone know what kind of plug a '94 has, or are they all different?

Where is the plug?

Is the only connection necessary present in the dash area?

Pull off the shifter panel, you'll see the plugs. Not sure what kind, but I bet its the 12 pin instead of the round ones...

Joe, Dave has not seen the coach he bought, going to pick it up soon and wanted the silver leaf. Joe, is yours the 12 pin rectangle? Should be the same I would think.
